I started to make this top on Saturday (copying the bodice pattern from R's favorite top until cutting the fabrics). Then on Sunday I began to sew all pieces. I couldn't finish it since my eyes were starting to be heavy *blame my allergy medicine! Kidding... It was already one a.m*.
I continued the almost-done-top today after lunch time. It was quick. Only posing the bias tape on the neckline & finishing the sleeve seams.
Ok! Late but finally finished... Gardening now!
PS. Photo 1: R's fave top is on the left.

Vide-Jardins Dunois
Got 6 plant containers in various size for only 3€. Secondhand, of course :) Got a cache-pot (what's that in English?) medium size for only 1€. And... adopted one aloe vera plant (3€).
>_<
Bon, this event was quite interesting because some people sold their unused gardening things in cheap prices. For plants, there were some professionals that came to sell herb, flower & fruit plants. So, in term of the price, more or less the same with those in the gardening stores.
Six containers, plus three that I got from Emmaus the day before. Nine. Where can I put them?

The Kale Project
Kale is a superfood! I read some information about Kale in Super Baby Food book by Ruth Yaron. And according to Wikipedia, "Kale is very high in beta carotene, vitamin K, vitamin C, and rich in calcium. Kale is a source of two carotenoids, lutein and zeaxanthin.] Kale, as with broccoli and other brassicas, contains sulforaphane (particularly when chopped or minced), a chemical with potent anti-cancer properties."
Unfortunately, it is not easy to find kale in France. So I was happy when I found kale plants in this nursery, Plantes Aromatiques. (check the category "Les Légumes Anciens"). But then, I was happier to find someone that sells kale seeds! Go to this blog The Kale Project to find out about the seeds that they sell on Etsy (shipped from Paris).
I received my seeds last Saturday and I got some interesting gifts: a recycled tote bag, stickers and a recipe (in two languages - french and english). Yummy...!

KCWC Spring 2013: One Skirt Became Two
Yesterday, I did not have time for sewing because I spent almost a half day at the prefecture office for my resident card. I only spent couple of minutes in front of my sewing machine to re-sew the bias tape on E's top and change the elastic on R's top.
But today, I could manage my time :) I transformed one long skirt into 2 short skirts :) The long skirt was given by my mom for R. Unfortunately, R did not like the model. But I adored the color and the print. So I offered to change R's skirt into a shorter one. She said yes. Then I offered to decorate the bottom part of the skirt with eyelet lace trim. Again, she said yes.
Done. I made two. Both are short but in different style (following the original long skirt shape).

KCWC Spring 2013
Yak, another KCWC... Check the details on http://blog.kidsclothesweek.com/ if you want to know more.
Started in April 22, I was not ready at all.
Lumayan lah...

- Day One: Memotong kain

And, four plants adopted from Troc Plantes event (by ASELQO, Orléans): aster, myosotis, chlorophytum & oregano. I also got one package of flower seeds. In that Troc Plantes (April 20, 2013), everything was free alias gratis...

A Short Holidays
Our little trip to Lyon city was amusing. The weather was so friendly and the children were quite cooperative :)
We stayed at our friends' house, they had a nice garden with some flowers, herbs, a cherry tree and some other plants. I learned some new things about gardening from my friend. And because of her garden, I wanted to buy some flowers for my balcony garden. I will buy...!
And then I could meet one of my Indonesian friend & we shared much about gardening & sewing. Then the next day, we could spend a nice time together in a flea market where she found a nice sewing box for only 5€ *lucky her*.
The last day, I finally visited Toto in Place Louis Pradel. It's a fabric shop that I wanted to see since I was still living in Lyon (I don't know why I didn't go there before, I passed that shop couple times). Bon, finally I did. In general, their collections were not as complete as Mondial Tissus, including the sewing notions. But if you want to find not expensive cotton fabrics (5.90€/m) for practicing sewing or making simple projects, you can find some in Toto.
In the same arrondissement with Toto (Lyon 1), there is one Asian store that sells Indonesian products (Indofood, ABC, Bamboe, Kobe, etc). So, I happily did a fun shopping in that store where the seller still recognized me. Wow... Anyway, I have Indomie again now *penting*
Mall. We noticed that there are some new shopping malls in Lyon & we visited one, Confluence shopping mall. Of course we visited La Part Dieu too, I couldn't miss that, euw... (I grew up in shopping malls in Jakarta >_< ). But Confluence is every... interesting & different. The area itself is quite new. At first we wanted to take a boat trip in that area but the information girl said it was not opened (I mean, the boat trip) because the water level was too high (it could be dangerous). So, okay... Shopping & Starbucks then... (gosh, my Jakarta's lifestyle was still here...). While my husband & my children were busy playing at the Apple Store, I spent time alone shopping. Muji store has various boxes to organize things like... fabrics, patterns, threads, notions. Drooling...

My Little Star's Bday
It was three days ago and the birthday was celebrated at her school. I think I like the idea of celebrating my kid's birthday at school... Making my life easier :D
So, compared to last year's birthday, this year we only prepared 2 yoghurt cakes with chocolate, 26 sachets of chocolates and bought 4 liters of orange juice. We took all to the school in the morning and voilà... done. When I picked her up after school, my daughter looked very happy. That was her first time celebrating her birthday at school.
One thing that made her birthday different was... the Tinkerbell theme. The second cake was decorated with a Tinkerbell & Periwinkle cake topper (rice paper). The sachets of chocolates were with Tinkerbell pictures inside (I printed those pics). The paper bag to carry the sachets was a Sephora bag covered with Tinkerbell picture(so we couldn't see the Sephora logo). And on that special day, my little star was wearing her Tinkerbell t-shirt... :D
A simple birthday but it gave a big result.
Happy birthday, my dear... Love you always...!
PS. And this is what I did with the birthday cake leftovers. Cake pops! I just mixed the cake in a food processor, added some Nutella and a little bit butter. Then my little one and I made cake pops... Yum, yum...
Nursery plants' shopping
Hari Minggu kemarin, toko Botanic ramai. Spring spirit :D Semua orang semangat menanam.
Pokoknya pink. Hmm...
Inilah anggota baru... Tomat & strawberry...!

Fabric Macaron
This is my first attempt in making macaron coin purse following the tutorial from Craft Passion.
Here some notes I made during the process (in Indonesian language):
Sekian dulu... Kalau ada tambahan, pasti disusulkan :-D

Gardening, Early April
*sok tau :D *
Tambahan:
Benih cabe rawit yang saya semai bulan lalu mulai memperlihatkan daunnya. Tadinya saya pesimis karena lama bangettt euy tumbuhnya... compared to others seeds yg saya semai berbarengan dgnnya. Saya pikir benihnya udah jelek jadi ngga mau tumbuh.
Dan, ini beberapa foto terbaru, tertanggal 3 April 2013... Cilantro, spinach, chilli, lettuce dan chives. Kale bleu masih hidup, aman. Kapan2 difoto.
This weekend: beli tanaman tomat dan strawberry...! Yuk!
Tambahan:
- Vide jardins dekat sekolah si sulung: Place Dunois 28 April 2013. Dicatet!
Buttons
Kancing magnetik & kancing snap metal (yg biasa digunakan utk pakaian jeans).
I prefer the magnetic one. Easier. Tp ada jenis kancing snap metal yg lain yg ingin saya coba *hunting*

My Sewing Corner
After a long weekend, as usual, I had to clean up. Clean, clean and clean... Like I did today. With the little miss running around partout & asking so many things, I couldn't make all rooms cleaned. Well, at least the main room was done.
The sunshine was great, the little miss was on her snack time, so I took some photos of my sewing corner. It's a part of our main room (living room - dining room). I can not use too much space in this room so my fabric stash is in another room (bed room) - not in this pic. I also have some beading & wire working supplies (from my first crafting activity) and they are all in our dressing room (again, not in this pic).

I don't think this neat view will stay for long time since I have a "production schedule" on Wednesday night until Friday. We'll see then... :D
Happy sewing!
