Bubur Menado


Kangen bubur Menado buatan ibunda. Yah, itulah yang saya rasakan belakangan ini. Setelah dipikir-pikir, saya akhirnya mencoba untuk membuat sendiri. Tanya kanan kiri, termasuk menelpon ibunda, menanyakan resep andalannya. Seperti biasa, ibunda tidak menakar bahan-bahan yang digunakannya. Jadi, terserah selera saja.

Bubur Menado yang pertama saya buat isinya banyak melenceng dari pakem karena keterbatasan bahan. Begini:
  • Kangkung dan bayam: diganti brokoli (hahah...)
  • Ubi merah: diganti kentang
  • Jagung: pakai yang kalengan
  • Kemangi: adanya daun basil, itupun yg bubuk
  • Ikan asin: anchovy asin (not bad... yumm...)
  • Sambal: chilli dr purée botolan, ditumis dgn purée tomat botolan (hihi...) dan bawang putih bubuk (males banget yah....)
Bubur Menado yang kedua, sudah mendingan. Isinya bayam, ubi merah, jagung bukan kalengan, daun basil segar, ikan anchovy asin. Sambalnya yang kurang nendang, yaitu sambal terasi tapi botolan (made in Thailand). Sambal tsb banyak sekali kandungan gulanya. Jadi spt sambal manis.

Namun secara keseluruhan, bubur Menado kedua ini lebih enak. Sambalnya yang kurang enak. Kapan-kapan harus rela bikin sambal fresh nih...

Talam Ubi


My baby was having her first birthday! Yippie! I'm so happy that she has been healthy and active like normal babies. To celebrate her birthday, we invited some friends to have a birthday lunch at our place. It was not only for my baby's birthday but also for my husband. Yes, they both had birthday in April, 4 days different.

Since we did not make a special birthday cake, we put the candle on one talam ubi little cake. It was nice... and creative, LOL...

The menu for that day:
  • Appetizer: Emping manis and rengginang
  • Main meal: Nasi kuning (yellow rice), Ayam Kalasan (chicken) and Terong Balado
  • Dessert: Talam ubi cake, Choco coffee pie (made by my husband) and chou à la crème (brought by our friends, Loic & Catherine).
  • Others: Indonesian coffee - Kopi Luwak (from Mimi) and Kopi Bali (from my mom)

Complete Indonesian meal! Well, except the pie and chou...

I remember the last time I made complete Indonesian menu was for Idul Fitri in 2008. I was pregnant, in my first trimester. And I wanted to make Indonesia food for Idul Fitri. So, opor ayam, lontong (rice cake), sambal goreng kacang, and es teler... What else? I dont remember.

We think about having another complete Indonesian meal and making it as frequent as possible. It will make me happy eating so many Indonesian food and will cherish my days. Yeyy!

Poulet Rôti bumbu kecap bango


Dulu saya pernah posting mengenai poulet rôti yang pertama kali saya buat namun fotonya kurang oke (alias bukan bentuk utuh sblm dipotong2). Nah, berhubung bbrp hari lalu saya masak ayam ini lagi, jadi ini dia foto lengkapnya...

Kecap manis dilumurkan di atas si ayam sblm dipanggang. Butter dan herbs juga.
