Weekend treasures
We spent the long weekend at my parents'-in-law to prepare things for the flea market on Sunday. Days of preparing (selecting, cleaning, etc) were quite exhausting for me but I always love flea markets. I could reduce our belongings that we don't need. And, I also could find things I need within our budget.
These were things I got yesterday. Of course for sewing!

Cloth Diaper Week 2013
I've been very calm these days... No new blogpost. It doesn't mean I did not do anything at home... :D Well, as you know, my friends and I have been preparing an event of Milis Popok Kain. And, today, some big parts are done. Happy...!
Join our event! Yuk!

KCWC Spring 2013: Floral Top
I started to make this top on Saturday (copying the bodice pattern from R's favorite top until cutting the fabrics). Then on Sunday I began to sew all pieces. I couldn't finish it since my eyes were starting to be heavy *blame my allergy medicine! Kidding... It was already one a.m*.
I continued the almost-done-top today after lunch time. It was quick. Only posing the bias tape on the neckline & finishing the sleeve seams.
Ok! Late but finally finished... Gardening now!
PS. Photo 1: R's fave top is on the left.

Vide-Jardins Dunois
Got 6 plant containers in various size for only 3€. Secondhand, of course :) Got a cache-pot (what's that in English?) medium size for only 1€. And... adopted one aloe vera plant (3€).
>_<
Bon, this event was quite interesting because some people sold their unused gardening things in cheap prices. For plants, there were some professionals that came to sell herb, flower & fruit plants. So, in term of the price, more or less the same with those in the gardening stores.
Six containers, plus three that I got from Emmaus the day before. Nine. Where can I put them?

The Kale Project
Kale is a superfood! I read some information about Kale in Super Baby Food book by Ruth Yaron. And according to Wikipedia, "Kale is very high in beta carotene, vitamin K, vitamin C, and rich in calcium. Kale is a source of two carotenoids, lutein and zeaxanthin.] Kale, as with broccoli and other brassicas, contains sulforaphane (particularly when chopped or minced), a chemical with potent anti-cancer properties."
Unfortunately, it is not easy to find kale in France. So I was happy when I found kale plants in this nursery, Plantes Aromatiques. (check the category "Les Légumes Anciens"). But then, I was happier to find someone that sells kale seeds! Go to this blog The Kale Project to find out about the seeds that they sell on Etsy (shipped from Paris).
I received my seeds last Saturday and I got some interesting gifts: a recycled tote bag, stickers and a recipe (in two languages - french and english). Yummy...!

KCWC Spring 2013: One Skirt Became Two
Yesterday, I did not have time for sewing because I spent almost a half day at the prefecture office for my resident card. I only spent couple of minutes in front of my sewing machine to re-sew the bias tape on E's top and change the elastic on R's top.
But today, I could manage my time :) I transformed one long skirt into 2 short skirts :) The long skirt was given by my mom for R. Unfortunately, R did not like the model. But I adored the color and the print. So I offered to change R's skirt into a shorter one. She said yes. Then I offered to decorate the bottom part of the skirt with eyelet lace trim. Again, she said yes.
Done. I made two. Both are short but in different style (following the original long skirt shape).

KCWC Spring 2013
Yak, another KCWC... Check the details on http://blog.kidsclothesweek.com/ if you want to know more.
Started in April 22, I was not ready at all.
Lumayan lah... Satu dress jadul dengan menggunakan vintage pattern dari eBay.
